Last Artwork for 2016

Last year in 2015 - I ended my 2015 year with a Frida print. You can read it here.

This year I am ending 2016 with another Frida print.  She is just an inspiration to me as a woman and as a artist.

Thank you all so much for all your support. Looking forward to 2017.

Thank you 2016.

2016 year was an amazing year for shows/events. Usually I am only able to do one show/event a year but as the kids are getting older and are able to manage themselves, I find myself with more time to do my art. I am not sure how I was able to do the shows w/the family in tow. It was exhausting but my family is awesome where they were all very supportive.

I am thankful for everything and what the year has given me. Thank you all for your support this year. It was great to see familiar faces and meet new people. I feel really lucky and grateful. I know I say the same things every year but its how I feel.

I am looking forward to 2017 and what it will bring. It maybe a much slower year or could be I end up doing more shows. Who knows! Either way I am looking forward to making more art and sharing with everyone next year.

Here is a look back at all my shows in 2016.

THANK YOU and hope to see everyone in 2017!!!

Happy Halloween

It is Halloween tomorrow and now that my kids are in school - it is really busy around this time. We got costumes to figure out, parties to plan and help with. I have to go to one school for one party and rush over to help at the other school. This year I signed up to bake 3 doz cookies for my son's class. Luckily my sister in law gave me some good tips on how I can get even sizes.

Got time to fit in one last artwork for today. From one "mummy" to another "mummy"...hope all you "mummies" have good a Halloween with your family.

Wonderground Gallery Downtown Disney District

Next up I will be returning to Wonderground Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort for the month of August. I will also be making two appearances from August 6-7 from 2 -5 p.m and August 27-28 from 2-5 p.m. If you didn't get something at Comic Con San Diego - I will be at Downtown Disney!

Comic Con San Diego 2016

Comic Con San Diego 2016 was pretty amazing and tiring. I didn't go last year but was able to make it back it this year. I thought it wouldn't go so well with sales because location wise it wasn't in a great spot and it wasn't my usual spot. It turned out to be a great spot and people who have been going years - still looked for me which was pretty cool.

This year we brought BOTH boys with us. Usually its just my husband helping me out but both my kids were there. It was tiring with the kids but they had a good time.

Hoping to return next year for sure!

Some Love.

With all the crazy things going on with the shooting and killing - I haven't had the time to really think and reflect till now. It's really a shame that humans behave like this. It is the year 2016 and we still live in a world of hate and violence.

As a parent I have to stay positive for the sake of my children.

On the lighter and loving spirit I had the need to create some loving art. Enjoy and be nice everyone. The World needs it.

In a crunch....

The past few weeks have been busy.  Along w/the kids schedule to maintain, I am trying to maintain my artwork schedule. I have a few shows coming up with Makers Faire in May, Comic Con San Diego in July and another appearance in August.

Boy oh boy am I tired. Its a good kind of tired. I feel really grateful to be home with my kids and at the same time work on my artwork.

The only way I get myself organized is w/one of these babies. Sure you can do everything on electronic calendars but call me old school - I still have the habit of writing everything down.

Here are a few more artworks I have been working on. These I would say are like my signature work/design but definitely my work has evolved and changed.

Fresh Bread

When my husband and I got married we got this Cusinart Bread Maker as a wedding present. It was in storage for a long time. Now that we have kids - my kids love fresh warm bread. Its just a pain in the butt having to make the fresh bread but I tell ya - these bread makers are awesome. You just add the ingredients, time what time you want it and set the settings then BOOM. You got your fresh hot bread! Whats great is that you can go about doing your business and not worry about if the oven is on.

New Hawaii Prints

I love Hawaii and tropical things. Here are a few new prints. These prints will be smaller so 8x10 and it may go up to 11x17 or even 12x18.

These will be limited prints. So I may end up just printing 50 or 100. I haven't decided yet. Also I am testing out new papers so will post more updates on how you can get one of these beauties!

Flapper Women

So in Wikipedia if you look up "flapper" it says, "Flappers were a "new breed" of young Western women in the 1920s who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to jazz, and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behavior. Flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking, treating sex in a casual manner, smoking, driving automobiles, and otherwise flouting social and sexual norms."

It seemed like an interesting time and women were out to have fun. It was a time to be liberated and looking sexy movement time for women. I just adore all the costumes and the fashion.

Here is one I illustrated. I am illustrating one more because I just adore the fashion.
