New Winter

I will be retiring a lot of prints end of this year. My digital style has changed and grown that when I look at older art its hard to identify myself with it. Its a good thing because I can see how much I have grown!

Also I started to watercolor and its been great. Its still a learning curve for me but I feel I am getting better at it.

Here is my new Winter print. I wanted to redo my geisha seasons so here is Winter.

New Print!

Been doing so much watercolor that I needed to take a break and go back to digital so here is a classic style!

Getting ready for Comic Con!

Sorry for the delayed posts. Instagram and Facebook are places that I post on a regular basis that I tend to ignore my blog.

The only thing I can report is I am getting ready for Comic Con in San Diego. I got some new shirts and prints that I will be bringing of course. Also this year I will have some watercolor prints and originals. Its just something I have been working at and slowly getting my confidence. I don't think I am nearly as where I want it to be but practice makes perfect!

Here are some images I got from Instagram but please follow me @nanhockin for daily updates!

New Shirt Site

I decided to move over to Threadless.com when it comes to printing shirt. I am not sure if I will stay here. It could be possible for Comic Shows I will get a limited number printed but for now check out my site at https://nanhockin.threadless.com/

I decided to move it over here because to be honest - carrying inventory on shirts is a big investment and I work out of my home so this allows me to not keep so much inventory. I don't think I would have the space in my house to keep all these shirts. Also it makes customers happy. Now you can get any design on any style of shirt and size. This way it works. I think the key thing is to get it printed on lighter color shirts. The quality is ok. I admit that. Screenprinting shirts are better but its still a good shirt. Here are a few samples I ordered for myself. Not so bad.

And here is two where they came out ok but I took out the gradients so going to get these two reprinted.

Threadless will be handling all my shipping and returns now but if you got any questions then feel free to email me! If you don't see it a certain style of shirt email me as well. I can turn on the style you may want. Threadless offers a lot of different styles of shirts!

WonderCon this month...planning for Comic Con San Diego

WonderCon is just around the corner. This year WonderCon will be back at the Anaheim Convention Center on March 31-April 2. I am all set for that show and will be bringing a lot of old and new artwork. This year will be some new watercolor prints. Lately I have been painting watercolor a lot and sure enjoy it.

I am also thinking about new prints that I would like to bring to San Diego Comic Con in July. I know July is still whiles away but its less stress for me.

Here is one I have been working on. Yup another Mermaid? I know...I just gotta do a new mermaid every year.

Watercolors

The past few years I have been practicing my watercolor technique. It's definitely getting better and feeling somewhat confident on what I am doing.

This year I will be bringing a few to my shows for purchase.

Last Artwork for 2016

Last year in 2015 - I ended my 2015 year with a Frida print. You can read it here.

This year I am ending 2016 with another Frida print.  She is just an inspiration to me as a woman and as a artist.

Thank you all so much for all your support. Looking forward to 2017.

Thank you 2016.

2016 year was an amazing year for shows/events. Usually I am only able to do one show/event a year but as the kids are getting older and are able to manage themselves, I find myself with more time to do my art. I am not sure how I was able to do the shows w/the family in tow. It was exhausting but my family is awesome where they were all very supportive.

I am thankful for everything and what the year has given me. Thank you all for your support this year. It was great to see familiar faces and meet new people. I feel really lucky and grateful. I know I say the same things every year but its how I feel.

I am looking forward to 2017 and what it will bring. It maybe a much slower year or could be I end up doing more shows. Who knows! Either way I am looking forward to making more art and sharing with everyone next year.

Here is a look back at all my shows in 2016.

THANK YOU and hope to see everyone in 2017!!!

Re-working on some favorites

End of the year is coming and finishing off some small projects before the year ends. It has been a pretty crazy 2016 and I am ready for 2017. I am not sure what 2017 will bring but thank you all for your support and encouragement.
