My last post and artwork for 2015

This will be my last post and my last artwork for 2015.

I dedicated my last drawing to Frida Kahlo. She was such an amazing artist and woman. I admire her so much. She was so advanced for her time and she was the only woman that can make a unibrow sexy.

I am not sure what 2016 will bring but I am excited to see what new adventures and drawings will happen in the New Year.

Also a big "thank you" for supporting my silly artwork and most of all your lovely comments. I appreciate it greatly. It brings a smile to my face and its so rewarding to me in so many ways.

Thank you again and hope to bring more silly artwork.

Holiday Traditions

One of my favorite Holiday traditions as a kid was getting to watch the Nutcracker Ballet on TV. My traditions have changed now - now that I have 2 active boys. I don't think watching the Nutcracker would be their cup of tea.

One of our holiday traditions is baking Star Wars and Hello Kitty cookies. Its something we started 6 years ago. As the kids get older - it gets better and better.

This year we got to watch new Star Wars movie as a family. It was great. We also did a Star Wars marathon before going.  

I don't miss watching the Nutcracker. I think one day I would love to go see the ballet performance but in the mean time - watching Star Wars is just fine by me.

Happy Holidays Everyone! Many thanks for the support. Its been a great year and looking forward to 2016. As for the drawing - It's been cold and rainy. So for the holidays - I drew life on the beach.

I love Hawaii

I know its kinda weird doing a Hawaii/Beach/Surfer drawing in cold sunny California (in December), but our family was recently on the big island this past Thanksgiving Break. All I have to say,  I did not want to leave. I just love it there. Its nice even in winter.

I wonder if I can take up surfing when I'm 80?

New Artwork - Women Superhero and Villian

I don't think I need to really explain the pictures. It says it all in the artwork. Poison Ivy, Scarlet Witch and Storm.

I know its not quite December yet but Happy Holidays.

Also I updated my shop. My new store allows me to add more items which is really great for me. Now I can have unlimited postcards up on there. If you go to my site - its also linked on the shop tab. So this season if you need cards to send - give greeting art card! Thanks for your support!

Holidays are coming

Holidays are coming. Yes they are coming quickly and within a blink of an eye, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year will be all here back to back.

Its always a busy time for me because BOTH my kids are winter babies so I have to plan birthday parties along with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Anyway here are some silly artwork cards I created.  There will be more to come.

Day of the Dead

Here is my Day of the Dead artwork. I may go back and add some details but its pretty much done. I know I am a bit late. Kids getting sick and planning my son's craft party - I just didn't have time for anything else. Its OK...family comes first and I finally finished my artwork.

I think Day of the Dead is a neat holiday. It makes me think about all my loved ones that I have lost. The most recent family member would be my mother-in-law. She was just a great woman and I dedicate this artwork to Louise. Oh and if she wore anything - it would be the red dress. She loved red.

Ok no more Halloween and Day of the Dead drawings.  Now moving on to Christmas!

Halloween Witch

A new Halloween print. I think as a child I always loved dressing up as a witch. The fact the idea of witches can cast spells and brew poison sounds really awesome.

I love October

I love October. It has to be my favorite month. The weather starts to get cooler and best of all...Halloween. I love Halloween and now that I have kids, we have a lot of fun.

October is also the month I celebrate my wedding anniversary and my Nanamation Anniversary. I have been making Nanamation art for about 9 years now!

Cactus Plants

With the California drought - I have been selecting more plants that require less water - like the cactus. Here is a new one that I recently purchased. I love looking at them and love drawing cute pictures of them.

Life is meant to fall apart sometimes...

When I pick up my son from school - he is always happy to see me but there are times when he is really sad. It breaks my heart and as a mother, I wish I could protect him from everything. I know I cant so I created these to explain to him that things happen and in the end its gonna be OK.

New prints

A few new prints I completed. I'll have these prints on sale at Jpop this weekend in San Francisco. Please remember that all my prints are limited so once I reach a certain number then I retire them.

My son says "seriously" a lot when I tell him the way things are. So I dedicate this one to him. 

Yeah...you know we can all be a prick sometime.

I was chopping onions and bawling. My son said he was sorry he made me cry. I thought it was sweet so I thought of this. 

        

JPOP Summit August 8 and 9

I'll be at JPOP Summit with some new postcards and hopefully new prints. Its been a while I did a show back in the city so come out and see me when you have time. 

For my Husband...

I dedicate this one to my loving husband and great father to my 2 boys. My husband and I are foodies so from one foodie to another.

Sometimes I feel like I am being forgotten

My son asked me what the heck this was. I said it was a phone. He said it was not because my phone was in my pocket. So sad. I feel for you Mr. Telephone. Somedays I feel like you. 

New Artwork - The Toothfairy

I dedicate this one to my son - who lost his first tooth. Surprising he didn't ask about what the Toothfairy does with all the teeth she collects. He was more concerned with letting his first tooth go. Oh well.

I told my son basically the Toothfairy collects all the teeth (all the clean and well taken care of teeth...hey we gotta practice good hygiene) and has a special machine where she mixes that w/some glitter.  Then POOF - you make fairy dust. Thats how fairies fly.

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a good Holiday in 2014 and hope 2015 will be great for you all.

My New Year resolution this year is to def. make more artwork. I started working this year so that plus my family has been taking up most of my time. Its not a bad thing but I don't have much time for artwork. Hoping I can change that this year.
