Ramen Junkie and I love MSG

I crave ramen. I can have ramen for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sad thing is that I can't have ramen because most of them has MSG. Restaurants and packed ramens claim that they don't have msg are liars. I can taste the msg right away. It will have small doses but I can still can taste it.  I have a reaction to it. My throat gets itchy and my tongue starts to swell up. I also get thirsty and water doesn't satisfy. The Food and Drug Administration claims that MSG is found naturally in our  bodies and in protein-contain foods such as cheese, milk, meat, peas and mushroom. Hmmmm...I don't know about that. I'll eat mushrooms and my tongue doesn't swell. 

I love the packaged ramens. Its what I grew up on but sadly I can't have it. It sucks for an Asian person to have this.

Valentine Night

Valentine Night at my household was fun night for the boys. We had a non-veggie dinner which everyone was so happy about. I made drip beef sandwiches and it was fantastic. I used Pioneer Women's drip beef sandwich recipe. That woman rocks. I love her. The only difference is that I browned the meat in a pan and then added to my crock pot. I added some onions and beef broth and salt and pepper. Nothing fancy. I have kids so I don't have a whole lotta time.

Dessert was apple turnovers. I always try to keep puff pastry sheets in my freezer. I mean why not? I stock up when they are on sale. Its good to have around when you need to make a last minute dessert thing. I filled mine with some apples, oatmeal, brown sugar, flour and bread crumbs. Seriously you can't go wrong with this. 

My 2nd son's dessert was strawberry and homemade whipped cream (so I can control the amount of sugar that goes in the cream). 

Then I got my other son and husband some vday goodies. Whole Foods have a bulk candy section where you can pick and choose your own. They had agave gummy bears! I got my husband his favorite chocolate bar. Its dark but has a touch of milk. 

My husband end up getting me flowers. I know I said Vday was overrated but it was sure nice to get some flowers from hubby. 

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! My husband and I will be spending Valentines will be spent at home with our crazy 2 kids. So romantic but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. Also Valentines day is so overrated. A day where you buy high priced chocolates and flowers. Before kids my husband and I went to Denny's or some diner as tradition for Valentines day.

With it being love and hearts day - here is Queen of Hearts herself in Nanamation style. I love the Queen of Hearts. I really think she is the best Disney Villain ever! She is such a bitch and when she gets slightly pissed then off w/the heads!

Wow! Hi and Happy 2014!

Wow its been a long time! Happy 2014!

I know. I know. Its been a while. My excuse?...two kids.

Nanamation has been on the back burner sadly. I stay home with my two kids and they have to be my first priority. I don't really have a choice. They can't fend for themselves yet.

I thought about giving up Nanamation but I don't think I can. Not yet. I really enjoy drawing in the time I have. So with that said I am going to try my big efforts to get back on track. I set goals and hopefully it will follow through.

Anyhow here is a quick drawing.

Probiotics vs Antibiotics. I have a love and hate thing with them. If you have kids then you will understand.

Probiotics is the good stuff. All the good germs. Now when you get antibiotics it kills off the good germs but yet it is so needed sometimes. Especially when the little one has a ear infection or when I got bronchitis and I was hacking for a month. So yeah. Thats about it.

Comic-Con 2013

I like to keep my blogs short and to the point. I am not a writer. I am an artist so less writing and more drawing whenever possible. So with this in mind here is the pictures I gathered from Comic con 2013.

Comic con is stressful and crazy. The thought of dealing with the people and madness makes my head spin but once I seem to forget about it and turns out to have fun.

Sleep and Zombie

I need sleep. Sleep is good. Lately I haven't been getting enough sleep. Its expected with a newborn baby. With an active toddler and a 3 month old...I sure am not getting any. So during the day I feel like zombie so I thought it would be funny to a Nanamation Zombie illustration.

Here is the latest artwork. It was created from sleep deprivation. It's mostly done. Well it is done but I like to run my artworks by my husband.

Cupcake Humor

 It could be the lack of sleep I am getting has made me slap happy or from watching too much Cupcake Wars on FoodNetwork, but here is a silly cupcake humor illustration I did. 

Lately its been taking a long time to finish one art piece. Before I could crank artwork much faster but with an active toddler, new infant, making meals and running house errands, my time is limited. Also on my spare time I rather be sleeping. So thanks for being patient with my updates. They will be coming but not as quick as before.

A little late but Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year...yeah I know I am late on this. With a newborn and a toddler - Nanamation has been on the back wagon for now but its slowly progressing. Hopefully as the kids get older I will have more time.

I was born in the year of the snake so its kinda a special year for me. So far the year has been great.

YUMMY SPAM!!!

One of my deepest darkest secrets is that I love SPAM. Yes,  the kind you get in a can. I don't eat it everyday or its an item that I carry in my pantry but I get a craving for it when I am having my kimchi stew or eating ramen.

Now if I was stuck on and island or was the last person on earth then I would consume it everyday as my protein intake.


When I go to my local korean grocery store, they have a big SPAM display so people won't forget to pick some up.

I like my SPAM fried with rice and a big bowl of kimchi stew.  How do you like your SPAM cooked?

New Button Idea - Pocky Treats!

I just adore Pocky and the cute package it comes in.  My son loves Pocky as much as I do. He does things I tell him to earn his one Pocky cookie stick. In other words -  yes I bribe him to do things for Pocky sticks.  I know I am a bad parent but HEY it gets him to eat his veggies and potty training was easy for us. There is so many in a package that one box goes a long way for us since he gets one for doing something I tell him to.

So my son is into super heros like Batman, Spiderman and Superman. Mine would be have to be Wonderwoman. If Wonderwoman had kids and had a blog tips about balancing life w/kids, family and saving the world -- I would so be a dedicated follower but then again she has super powers. All mommy's should be given super powers. Life would be easier is all I am saying.

Happy New Year! 

IT has been a while since I have posted anything. A lot has been going on with my personal life. I left my contract work last October so I can refocus on my artwork. It has been a slow process but its been getting there. Also we are preparing the birth of our 2nd son who is due any day now. 

I am not sure how many shows I'll get to do this year but we will be at Comic Con San Diego in July. 

Survived another year at Comic Con 2012

Comic Con 2012 was crazy, wild and nutty. I give mad props to the attendees who fight the long lines and make their way to the crowded exhibit hall. It was exhausting time working the shows for 5 days but I had a great time. It was great to see familiar faces and meet new faces.  Going to these shows are great and inspire me to continue with my artwork.

Hello Kitty Street Fighter!!!

It has been a while since I posted anything.

Yeah sorry..it has been a while since I have posted anything or done any Nanamation work. After Comic Con SD 2011, I got busy with some things in my personal life. No not another baby. Just moving and I took a contract job that took up all my time. I also needed a break.

Now that things are settling in for me, I hope to get my work back on track!

Comic Con SD!!

Yup Nanamation finally got into Comic Con San Diego. I got in a few years ago and was wait listed because I made the mistake of not applying early for the year after. But I got a call early this summer that they had a cancellation and they have a spot for me! YAY!

Cherry Blossom Festival Week 2!
