Pig Chart Freebie

I love charts. They make me feel organized and it is a good way to educate someone.  I recently just finished a Chinese Zodiac Chart and a while back I did a sushi chart.

To add to my list of charts, I finished a pork chart. Ohh yeah...mmmm..bacon. I am sure there are ton of pig charts out there but I had to do a pig chart.

Nyotaimori

Nyotaimori is referred to as a "body sushi". In other words it is a body platter. I don't know if there are restaurants in San Francisco that practice nyotaimori but I heard there was one in Los Angeles. But I also heard it also shut down because of health issues. I wouldn't be surprised. Gross dude.

Anyways I was so fascinated about this and been watching too many Lady Gaga videos so I HAD to draw about it. I feel like it is half finished so I may come back to it later. Or I may not. It was just something I to illustrate.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hope everyone had a great holiday and New Year. We sure did! From the end of November to all the way to the end of December I was busy with non-Nanamation stuff. Besides the holidays, we have a lot of December birthdays in my family. Now that the holidays are over, and with it being a New Year it's time to get back to work on Nanamation artwork. I hope to be doing a lot more artwork and shows this year. There are a few out of state ones I have in mind that I hope to get into as well. Last year was a slow year for me with baby, but now that he is a toddler hopefully things will be different.

To start off with here are a few quick poop comics I did. Poop always seem to get a bad rap, when it it's so natural. I guess it has been on my mind a lot since I have a baby I clean up after. Also I can't forget the dog. Yes I pick up the dog poop and those who own dogs had better, too. That really makes me mad when I see owners who don't pick up the dog poop or pretend that they are picking it up. You know who you are! Shame on you. Ok..maybe I did it a few times but I didn't have a poop bag.

Designer Con and Sanrio

Sorry about the slow post but last week was Designer Con. We had a great time and will most likely return for next year. It was good to meet new people and see old friends.  The highlight of my LA trip was the Sanrio 50th Partay in Santa Monica. It just happened to be the same week. My husband on the other hand doesn't believe me and thought I planned it. Hey I would admit it if it was.

Designer Con this week

I hate it when they get my drink wrong.

I got coffee today. They got my drink wrong. I got angry. So I decided to draw about it. Now I am not angry anymore. Thank goodness I have something to take out my anger.

If sushi could talk....

When I was preggo I craved sushi. I craved it so much that I drew pictures of it. Sometimes I like to imagine my food talking to me. I know. I am strange.

2 New Prints and APE this month

I finally got around to finishing 2 new prints. It took forever but I finally finished them. I know most of you know that I gave birth last Dec and well it has been pretty hard to keep up with Nanamation. I must say this has been a slow and not so productive year. My husband says I should give myself some slack since I did after all had a baby. But I feel like its no excuse to slack on my artwork.  Anyway way I am back on a schedule that I can manage and my son is a little older things are a bit easier. Hopefully I can speed things up.

Zombies and Brains

Last week we threw our good friend a Zombie Birthday Party. I signed up to make red velvet cupcakes and boy did I have fun decorating. The husband even helped out with the decorating. HE had a lot of fun.

I also crochet him a Zombie Bunny to keep to the theme. Here is the sketch.

I wrapped it in a bag w/a Hello Kitty Zombie Bag that I made. I bought a Hello Kitty coloring book and tore one of the pages and colored the Hello Kitty in Zombie Colors.
Boy oh boy..it was a fun weekend!

Kimchee Pizza

That's right..Kimchee Pizza. When we had American food for dinner growing up, my mom would always find a way to put some Korean food into it. Back then I hated Kimchee Pizza but now I miss it.

Comics strip for Nanamation?

When I go to comic cons a lot of people ask if Nanamation will be doing any comics or stories? I usually tell people "no" because I rather do the art and I am not much of a writer. I mean, I went to art school so I can avoid writing essays. However,  a while back I did a comic book called 'Nan and the Flies' that I gave away FREE. That was pretty fun. It was basically about me as a child catching flies. I had this weird obsession with catching flies. It's a long story.

Anyway I wanted to explore that area so I decided I'll try a few this month and see where it goes.

Here is two of them....


This one is called "What's for lunch". Growing up I wanted to have such a normal sandwich lunch! Instead I always got something with rice. Typical Asian mom!

This next one is called "comfort food". My husbands comfort food was grilled cheese sandwiches.  One of mine was boiled octopus w/rice and some hot sauce of course! YUM!

Nanamation on Canvas

A Nanamation Fan emailed me about getting not just one but 2 prints in a larger form. I was really honored that I looked into it.

I got them today and they came out beautiful! I hope she likes them!

Possible new button Idea

Buttons do well for Nanamaiton. Here is one I did...I think I was waiting for my coffee or something when I did this one.

Moving Nanamation Blog...

I decided to move my blog to Google's Blogger. I can't stand livejournal's ads. It drives me nuts everytime I want to blog about something. So I decided to try Google's Blog. If this doesn't work then I'll try out word press. I heard good things about it.

Nanamation bags are now online to purchase. I don't have many so get them while they are here.

Setting Goals

I realized I need to set weekly goals because if I don't then nothing gets done. I decided to do 2 sketches per night (at least). It will be tough with JJ but I GOTTA keep up w/Nanamation. I am also setting other goals like finishing a new print in 3 days or new print in a week. It will be tough but we will see how it goes.

Phoenix is my next show

Okay..its been really hard to do any updates or do nanamation stuff lately. I had a baby last December and he has been keeping me BUSY. Also he is the worlds fussiest baby.

Hopefully now that I got a nanny once a week I will have more time for updates and more time for nanamation work!

Crocheting

Other than working on nanamation I like to relax and crochet. Here is a bunnie I crochet for a friend who is having a baby girl. I guess the pink gives it away. LOL!!

New Lolita Print

Not sure what my obesession is with Lolita girls. I guess its because of the cute outfits!
